The South and South East in Bloom Awards Ceremony took place at the Amex Stadium, Brighton on Friday 13th September with another excellent result for the Town of Wimborne Minster. For the sixth successive year the Town was awarded a Gold Medal. There was also a surprise award for Richard Nunn, Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom who received one of the Regions Outstanding Contribution Awards.
Richard Nunn speaking after the Awards Ceremony said, “the efforts and hard work of the Committee, their spouses, members of the charity and our volunteers were justly rewarded when a sixth consecutive Gold Award was presented in Brighton. On a personal basis I was most surprised and privileged to be awarded ‘The Outstanding Contribution Award’ and can only put this down to the superb support given by all involved with Wimborne in Bloom. Massive thanks to everyone for such support and all the hours given so willingly for our Town.”
Wimborne in Bloom’s own Awards Ceremony takes place on Saturday (21st September) in Allenbourn Middle School commencing at 2.30pm. All interested ‘In Bloomers’ are welcome.
The result of Wimborne’s entry into the National Britain in Bloom Competition will not be known until the end of October.
