On the afternoon of the 21st April, the Mayor, Mayoress, along with the Town Crier and other Councillors, welcomed local residents to enjoy afternoon tea to celebrate Queen’s birthday. These residents, like the Queen were also celebrating turning 90 this year.
The event was held at the Royal British Legion in Wimborne Minster, where a fabulous spread was served on vintage china. A selection of Pathe news was created for the day, which the guests enjoyed whilst drinking tea and having a chat with new acquaintances.
The Mayor said “We had a fantastic afternoon, it was wonderful to see so many people for this special celebration. The British Legion put on a lovely spread which everyone seemed to enjoy. People were reminiscing over tea and the Pathe News was interesting, just as well it was silent news as the jovial atmosphere meant people were chatting away and enjoying their reminiscing! Special thanks to Cllr Mrs March who took the lead on organising the event and Cllr Bell for editing the Pathe News”.
