Carole Chedgy

Cllr Carole Chedgy

First elected in May 2017

It has been my privilege to live in Wimborne since 1993, and I have had associations with the town for far longer. I had always hoped to live here one day. I am a retired non-practising solicitor. Previously I was a partner in a law firm in Christchurch, where I worked as a litigation solicitor specialising in family law. This gave me valuable insight to, and experience in, running a business, and dealing with clients` financial affairs and their businesses. I was also a part time County Court Deputy District Judge for over 20 years.

Over the years I have served on various committees in the legal world, and was a volunteer solicitor for Citizens Advice Bureau. These experiences, together with my involvement in legal work over the years, mean I can understand the difficulties of those from all walks of life. Since 2021 I have beenĀ  privileged to be a Trustee of East Dorset & Purbeck Citizens Advice.

I have served on all the TC committees and in addition the Joint Cemetery committee. I have been Chair of two committees. I was the TC Bid representative for some years. I take a keen interest in supporting the voluntary organisations in town.

I love living in Wimborne and care deeply about our town and its future. Most days I am out and about in the town, often walking my dog. I enjoy the variety of events which take place in the town and participate as much as possible. Walking and gardening are my favourite past times.

I am not party political. I believe that the Town Councillors should serve the interests of the town, its residents, and future generations.
