Footbridge over the river near Julians Bridge

The Town Council is in discussions with Dorset Council about the urgent need for a safe pedestrian crossing over the River Stour. We will update the Facebook page as soon as we know more.

Pedestrian Crossing near Walford Bridge

As part of the community infrastructure provided by the developer of the Cranborne Road development, a pedestrian crossing phase will be added to the lights at the bottom of Stone Lane. Dorset Council has not yet provided timings for the installation. We will update the Facebook page when further information is known.

The Town Council is aware of the increase in litter pollution around the Town. A couple of community litter picks have already taken place, please keep an eye on our Facebook page for future events. The Town Council has also contracted Wimborne in Bloom to carry out additional litter picking in the Town Centre.

Narrow Footpaths

One of the on-going challenges of our beautiful historic market town, is the narrow footpaths and poor accessibility on some streets. For some time, there has been discussions about further pedestrianisation of the town. This is not in the gift of the Town Council to implement, but we will continue to discuss options with Dorset Council and will consult with the local community on your preferences when the time comes.
