Wimborne Minster is a BID Town!
A Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led and business-funded body formed to improve a defined commercial area. This involves the businesses within the boundary paying a levy. Most BIDs are in town centres although there are also BIDs established in Industrial Estates.
Wimborne BID is proud to be working closely with the Town Council for the good of the town. We meet regularly to discuss town improvements and events so that the whole community can benefit from having a BID. Examples of our partnership working are:
- Town Maintenance & cleaning
- Policy development
- Event negotiations, joint funding and organisation
- We are both heavily involved in the Christmas celebrations and lights in town.
- Whilst the BID provided seed funding for Radio Wimborne, the Town Council also provided grant funding for the station.
The BID-funded Wimborne Hub website; www.wimborne.info is a source of information on businesses, news and events.
If you would like more information on what it means to be a business in a BID town, please contact the BID at office@wimborne.info.
