Chris Slocock Completes The First 200 Laps of Wimborne Minster

As the congregation of the Minster came out of the Church this morning at the end of the 9.30am Parish Eucharist Chris Slocock was joined by the Revd Canon Andrew Rowland,  Rector of Wimborne Minster and Anthony Oliver, the Minsters Press Officer to walk the last four laps of the Minster to complete the first 200 laps of his target of 900 laps to celebrate the Minsters 900th anniversary of the start of the building as we know it today.

Chris had started his walk last Sunday covering 50 laps with a further 50 on both Tuesday and Friday. Today’s walk had started at 8.45am  in very wet conditions and with the remnants of Storm Alex still blowing in the air.

Chris reckons that he has now completed his first marathon and whilst the walking will continue over the coming weeks he is raising money for the Minster Makes Music Appeal. He has already raised over £700 of his target of £900. You can support Chris’s walk and the Appeal by accessing the Just Giving website:
