We lost a large tree in a storm in 2015, so have been looking to replace it since then. So it was a fitting tribute to dedicate a new tree to commemorate the Queen’s 90th birthday. A Red Oak (Quercus Rubra) was chosen as a suitable replacement. With it being deciduous, it will reduce the risk of storm damage in the long term. The tree was kindly donated by the late Cllr Henry Bartlett and can be seen close to the Playground.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Robin Cook unveiled the plaque.
