On a very wet and blustery morning Chris Slocock made it today (Saturday 5th December)and completed his 900 laps of Wimborne Minster. He was joined by the Bishop of Sherborne, The Right Revd Karen Gorham, the Rector of Wimborne Minster, the Revd Canon Andrew Rowland, the Town Crier, Chris Brown, his wife Yayu, Minster Curate the Revd Nick Wells and his youngest Etienne, Churchwarden Peter Cook and Minster Press Officer Anthony Oliver.
Chris had started his marathon or rather four marathons at the end of September with the aim of raising £900 to celebrate the 900th anniversary, this year, of the start of the Minster Building as we know it today. He has well and truly achieved this target having already raised £2000 for the Minster Makes Music Appeal. Chris is now planning to continue with the aim of completing 1000 laps by Christmas Day. He thanks everyone for their support with donations so far and said that it is not too late as you can still support Chris and the Appeal by accessing the Just Giving website.
