WIMBORNE MINSTER TOWN COUNCIL
MINUTES of a meeting of the RECREATION & LEISURE COMMITTEE held on TUESDAY 16 APRIL 2013 at 6.30 pm in the Committee Room, Town Hall, Wimborne Minster.

240 RECREATION GROUNDS INSPECTION REPORT
The Town Clerk submitted a report, a copy of which was circulated to each Member at the meeting and a copy of which appears as Appendix A to these Minutes.
241 PLAY AREA REFURBISHMENT (Min 213 - 26.02.13)
The Town Clerk submitted a report, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix B to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
The Town Clerk suggested in the report that he make arrangements for Members to see example play areas constructed by the eight suppliers which had submitted schemes.
RESOLVED that the Town Clerk obtain from the suppliers the locations of play areas as suggested and Members make their own arrangements to view them over the next few weeks.
242 FOLK FESTIVAL - YOUTH EVENT 2013
The Town Clerk submitted an email dated 19 March 2013 from the Community Safety Officer, Christchurch and East Dorset Councils, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix C to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
Permission was sought from the Town Council to hold a youth event on the Friday of the Folk Festival, 7 June 2013 similar to last year.

Recreation & Leisure Committee - 16 April 2013
A donation towards the cost of the event was again sought.
RESOLVED
(a) that the request be approved subject to the same conditions and arrangements as last year including the public toilets remaining open until 10.00 pm;
(b) that as the event is for one night instead of two this year, a donation of half of last year's contribution be made from the Committee's miscellaneous budget towards the cost of the entertainments (ie £100).
243 REDCOTTS RECREATION GROUND - PARK BENCH DONATION (Min 133 - 23.10.12)
The Town Clerk submitted a report, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix D to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
A bench was being donated by a company which had been given permission to access a development site at Wimborne First School through Redcotts Recreation Ground. Members were asked to select which bench they preferred.
RESOLVED that 'The Stour' manufactured from recycled material by Green Scheme in green be requested and it be kept in store until it can be sited in the refurbished play area.
244 LEIGH PARK PLAYING FIELD - QEII FIELD IN TRUST PLAQUE (Min 216 - 26.02.13)
The Town Clerk reported for information that the Vice-Chairman, together with Cllrs S K Bartlett and Mrs Roberts had visited Lander's Quarries Ltd at Langton Matravers and had selected a suitable stone on which to display the Fields in Trust plaque.
Unfortunately, the Town Clerk had been advised by the company that the stone selected had a flaw in it and they were finding an alternative. He would advise the Committee when an alternative was found.
The Town Clerk added that having consulted a structural engineer a stone 22" x 22" x 36" high could be sited free-standing without danger of toppling.

245 DOG WARDEN PATROL REPORTS
The Town Clerk submitted for information the Dog Warden Patrol Reports for February and March 2013, copies of which had been circulated to each Member and copies of which appear as Appendix E to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
