138 BUDGET POSITION & PRECEPT 2013/2014
The Town Clerk submitted a report, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix A to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
The report set out the budgetary requirements of each Committee and the resulting likely level of precept. The Town Clerk reported that the Recreation & Leisure Committee earlier that evening had approved its budget as submitted subject to the following amendments:
(i) to increase the provision for Dog Control under Code 6677 from £1,000 to £1,500;
(ii) to add a new code of 6897 Play Area Refurbishment Loan in the sum of £6,600;
(iii) in view of (ii) above to reduce to zero the allocation of £1,000 under code 6662 (Play/Sports Fund).
The Town Clerk added that if the Committee's budgets were accepted, the precept would rise by 1.5%, but no provision had been made for inflation which was currently 2.2% (RPI).

Members felt that if the Town Council made no provision for inflation in 2013/2014 larger increases in the precept might be necessary in later years in order to meet its commitments.
RECOMMENDED
(a) that £1,100 be added to the Buildings Fund under code 6447;
(b) that subject to that amendment, the spending Committees' budgets for 2013/2014 be approved;
(c) that the precept for the 2013/2014 financial year be set at £256,500 (2% increase over 2012/2013).
139 ELECTORAL REVIEW OF EAST DORSET (Min 57 - 17.07.12)
The Town Clerk submitted a letter dated 25 September 2012 from the Local Government Boundary Commission, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix B to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
The Commission had asked whether the Town Council wished to comment on any aspect of this review.
RESOLVED that this matter be referred to full Council.
140 DAPTC - MOTIONS TO AGM
The Town Clerk submitted an email dated 19 September 2012 from
John Parker, Chief Executive, DAPTC, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix C to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
The Town Council had been asked whether it wished to support motions to this AGM from various Dorset parish councils.
RESOLVED that all the proposed motions be supported.
141 CHRISTMAS CLOSURE OF OFFICE
The Town Clerk submitted a report, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix D to these Minutes in the Minute Book.
The Committee was asked to consider the Christmas closure arrangements.

RESOLVED that the office be closed to the public between 24 December 2012 and 1 January 2013 and staff be required to take four days annual holiday.
The meeting closed at 8.00 pm.
