The Unexpected Guest Flyer

Wimborne Drama is proud to present Agatha Christie's classic, "The Unexpected Guest".

The husband, a corpse cooling in his wheelchair, the wife, with a warm gun in her hand, and the stranger, fogbound and isolated, who comes upon the scene. Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest is as intriguing and baffling as only she could make them.

Laura Warwick (Tracey Nicholls) readily admits to the murder and is certain to meet her retribution, unless the worldly and gallant unexpected guest Michael Starkwedder, (Richard Neal) succeeds in his offer to help her concoct a cover story. The dead man’s many enemies make plentiful suspects, — his enigmatic mother (Val Mantle), his excitable younger brother (Rob Cording) and his devious valet (Michael Smith) amongst them — all with powerful motives for wanting Richard Warwick dead…. Will the unexpected guest get her off? Did she really do it?

Wimborne Drama is delighted to be returning to the Tivoli Theatre this autumn with another Agatha Christie piece. "Her plays may be past the first flush of youth, but Christie plots tightly and the audience is left guessing to the last" says director David Pile, also responsible for the group’s highly acclaimed production of Witness for the Prosecution last year.

"I was more than happy to return to Agatha Christie. This time the premise is a little more domestic; less grand and extravagant. Beneath the veneer of the ordinary family lurks a hotbed of discontent which it should be fun to explore! I've got a fantastic cast again, and I'm eagerly looking forward to working with them all to make this play come really alive."

The cast also includes Paul Dodman, Chrissie Neal, Colin Pile and Tony Parkinson.
