The Town Council has three part-time office staff and two full-time Groundsmen.
The Town Clerk, Laurence Hewitt, is the Council’s chief executive and chief financial officer and its ‘proper officer’ for all purposes according to statute.
Laurence is responsible for the day to day management and development of the Council, as well as liaison with councillors and other authorities.
The Town Clerk’s Assistant and Secretary is Shelagh Fuller. Shelagh is also the Mayor’s PA and is responsible for the administration of civil ceremonies held in the Council Chamber. She is also responsible for bookings of the Council’s meeting rooms.
Finance Administrator, Genny Singleton, is responsible for the administration of the Council’s accounts and bookings for sports facilities.
The Council’s Head Groundsman is Glen Holdsworth. Glen is responsible for the maintenance of the Council’s recreation grounds and sports facilities, including pitches. Glen supervises the Assistant Groundsman, Neil Guest.
