The Town Council has four part-time office staff and three Groundsmen.
The Town Clerk, Laurence Hewitt, is the Council’s chief executive and chief financial officer and its ‘proper officer’ for all purposes according to statute.
Laurence is responsible for the day to day management and development of the Council, as well as liaison with councillors and other authorities.
Assistant Town Clerk, Holly Burton, is responsible for key strategic projects for the Council and to deputise for the Town Clerk.
Administration Officer, Shelagh Fuller, is responsible for dealing with day-to-day general enquiries and provide a customer service to members of the public. Shelagh provides administrative support to the Council including acting as PA to the Mayor, the administration of civil ceremonies held in the Council Chamber and co-ordinating bookings of the Council’s meeting rooms.
Finance Administrator, Genny Singleton, is responsible for the administration of the Council’s accounts and bookings for sports facilities.
The Council’s Head Groundsman is Glen Holdsworth. Glen is responsible for the maintenance of the Council’s recreation grounds and sports facilities, including pitches. Glen supervises the Assistant Groundsman, Matt Pritchard, and Part-time Groundsman, Callum Linton.
