Sunday Racing at Dreamboats

Yesterday saw the annual racing event at Dreamboats, where locals come out year after year for the coveted silver cup!  Races continued between two boats (at a time) from 2pm, until just after 4pm, when the winner rose to the top!

Alongside the racing, Dreamboats volunteers manned Tombola, ‘bar’ and ‘afternoon tea’ tents on the riverside where there were plenty of tables and chairs for visitors to enjoy the racing and the sunshine during the afternoon.

The Town Mayor Cllr Kelly Webb attended the afternoon and sampled goods from each of the tents.  She said “It was so lovely to see so many people from the local community wearing their Dreamboats blue T shirts and helping make the day a great success.  Everyone was so friendly, what a great atmosphere there was on a sunny Sunday afternoon”.  The Mayor awarded the Silver trophy to Jaden who was certainly a young winner and part of the ‘Superman’ team of rowers.

Dreamboats hire out boats to the public right through to September from the riverside by Poole Road bridge and are a charity based in Wimborne Minster.
