Year First Elected2007

My wife and I have been residents of Wimborne Minster for over 13 years. We have a son and a daughter, who both attended local schools. They are now both in their twenties and still living at home. Having previously worked for Barclays Bank for 34 years, I am now semi-retired.

Since taking early retirement I have been able to take a greater interest in the Town and have been a member of the Wimborne in Bloom Committee for over 3 years and its Secretary since January 2007.

Having no commercial interests in the town, I consider myself a 'concerned resident'. Concerned that is, that Wimborne continues to merit its reputation as a wonderful place to live, work and visit and that its residents get fair value in the way of services received from the town, district and county councils for the relatively high level of council taxes we have to pay.

I consider it a great privilege to be elected Mayor and Chairman of the Town Council and will do my utmost to be a good ambassador for the town.

I am not party political but strongly believe that the local issues should be decided locally and that the people of Wimborne should have the biggest say in what happens to and in our town. I would be pleased to hear from Town Residents about issues that concern you.
