Although only elected to the Town Council in 2003, Robin has been an active member of the community for many years. He has worked in Wimborne since 1978 and lived in the town since 1987.
Employed in the retail sector, he served his apprenticeship in Harrods. Moving to this area in 1972 he joined the Beales group of companies until a chance meeting with Bill Tapper (Town Mayor in 1978) led to his joining Tappers as the only non-family director.
This is the second time Robin has had the honour of being Town Mayor. he previously held the position in 2006/2007.
He has been chairman and president of the Wimborne Minster & District Chamber of Trade, was responsible for designing the current Town Guide and also instrumental in bringing the present Christmas lighting scheme to the town.
Married to Sue he has a son currently reading Archaeology at Exeter University, 2 daughters, one who lives locally and the other in Michigan USA, and 4 grandchildren.
His hobbies and interests include fishing and music (he is currently learning to play electric guitar). He is a volunteer at the Priest’s House Museum and supports Wimborne in Bloom with various activities, including a regular coffee morning given at his home to raise funds.
