Wimborne Minster Town Council

The Town Council was formed in 1974 as part of the reorganisation of local government in England and Wales. Its first office and meeting room was in the Allendale Centre but in 1992, it purchased 37 West Borough which had been put to various uses since it was built sometime in the 19th Century.

There are twelve members of the Council, 11 represent the Town Ward and 1 represent the Cranfield Ward. Councillors service for a four year term (unless elected in a by-election.) The next election will be held in 2011 when all 12 seats will be vacated.
