Councillor Leslie Harvey

First elected in 1999
Picture of Cllr Mr L G Harvey Dorset born and bred, I have lived in Wimborne for the past 35 years with my wife, Minna. Our grandchildren are now following our two sons through the local schools system. I have been active in local affairs for many years, for example leading successful campaigns for resident parking and a weight restriction.

I became Town Councillor in 1999 to help combat the threat to open spaces within the Town and reduce crime and vandalism. I have therefore, supported the introduction of CCTV, alcohol control and speed limits.

I support a wide range of activities for young and old, from play areas to bowls, and I have worked with residents towards the provision of community facilities at Leigh Park. I also represent the Town as DCC Rights of Way Officer, Dorset Cycling Network and Safe Routes to School Liaison.
