Councillor Henry Bartlett

First elected in 2010
Picture of Cllr Mr P H Bartlett I care about our community in Wimborne Minster and have lived locally all my life.

I attended schools in Wimborne Minster including Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School. I was married in The Minster at Wimborne and have brought up two sons.

I have been self employed, running my own building and decorating business, for many years. More recently I have run a newsagency in the rural area north of Wimborne Minster.

I know that my experience on East Dorset District Council, my local knowledge of the area and of its people will stand me in good stead in my new role.

I served as a District Councillor for ten years between 1985 - 1999 and have had special interest in working on the Planning Committee. I was Chairman of The Vale of Allen Parish Council for six years 1987 - 1993. I have been a Civilian Instructor with 1069 Squadron Air Training Corps for many years working with young people.

I am now a Patient Representative on Dorset Primary Care Trust with a special interest in diabetes. I have been Chairman of the local Wimborne Group of Diabetes UK and work with Diabetes UK regionally and nationally.
