Consultation on Dorset’s Mineral Sites Plan & Waste Plan

Last chance to have your say on future minerals and waste sites:

The final draft Mineral Sites Plan and Waste Plan will be open for public consultation between 1 December 2017 and 31 January 2018. The revised documents give detailed information about future quarries and waste management facilities throughout the county. Land at Woolsbridge Industrial Estate is allocated for a waste transfer station and/or the development of a transfer/treatment facility for the management of bulky waste. Unfortunately, it has not been possible to allocate a new site for the relocation of the Wimborne HRC however, the Waste Plan includes policies to determine applications for new facilities.
Cllr Daryl Turner, Cabinet member for natural and built environment, said “We are pleased that so many residents took part in a series of consultations over the last few years. Many of their concerns have been incorporated into the plans, and we want to encourage people to review the documents and give us their views during the final consultation in December. The Plans should ensure that we protect Dorset’s environment whilst building a sustainable economy for the future.”
