Built in the 19th Century, the elegant Council Chamber situated within the Grade II listed Town Hall is licensed for Civil Ceremonies/Partnerships. The Council Chamber has been licensed since 1996 and has grown in popularity over the years to become one of the most popular venues in East Dorset.  It underwent a sympathetic refurbishment at the beginning of 2020 to make the most of its period features – including a barrel-vaulted ceiling adorned with large chandeliers.

The venue features the ‘Jubilee Garden‘ which has been planted as a 17th Century Physick Garden with a Gazebo dating from 1750. This provides a lovely location for photographs after the ceremony, and a post ceremony reception to toast the couple. There is also an option to host a Civil Ceremony outside in the Jubilee Garden.

Testimonials

“What an amazing venue and wonderful people to help guide us through our most amazing Wedding day. From the first moment we met Jam at Wimborne Town Hall we knew we were in very safe hands her expertise , warmth and professionalism sealed our decision to look no further than Wimborne Town Hall as the venue for our Wedding ceremony. From the plushest of silver grey carpets to the not one but three sparkling crystal chandeliers the chamber room was flooded with beautiful natural light from the Georgian windows making this one very special place to get married. After the ceremony we had a chilled champagne reception thanks to Jam putting the bottles on ice in the delightful and charming Physics garden.
All our guests marvelled at the fabulous venue and the ease and friendly manner of the Registrars who helped make our Wedding very special indeed. If you are looking for an exquisite place to host your forth coming nuptials whether it’s for a small and intimate gathering or something a little larger, then look no further than Jam and her colleagues at Wimborne Town Hall.”

“Such a sweet venue for a wedding in the middle of Wimborne!!

My partner and I had our intimate wedding ceremony at the Wimborne town hall and it was simply perfect.

Before the day we were in communication with Jam. She is truly one of the loveliest women and she made the whole experience 5 stars. She showed us the venue and our options before the day and on the day she acted as a coordinator for everything from music to guest to the champagne toast after the ceremony!

Although our celebration was in October and we had planned to do the ceremony inside, on the day the sun was shining so we decided to change plans last minute and have the ceremony in the Jubilee gardens on site. Jam coordinated everything and it was absolutely stunning. Definitely consider using the Town Hall if you are having a smaller wedding in Wimborne! “

“We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect venue than Wimborne Town Hall. It’s a gorgeous setting, with a lovely civil room and beautiful jubilee garden for fizz and pictures.

Jam is incredible, she is everything you could wish for – she was amazing from initial contact through to the big day and after. You feel in the safest hands, nothing is too much trouble, she’s proactive (I was over heating on the day and suddenly a fan appeared from nowhere) and just makes you feel at ease and at your best. Thank you so much Jam.

Our registrars Anita and Julie were lovely and talked us through the process so we were relaxed and knew what we were doing.

We thoroughly recommend getting married here. Wimborne is very special to us and the town hall is spot on.”

“In the heart of Dorset, Wimborne Town Hall Registry Office stands as a hidden gem for intimate wedding ceremonies. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing the love and warmth that this quaint venue brings to each couple’s special day.

The town hall, with its unassuming yet elegant facade, offers a beautiful setting that complements the genuine, heartfelt moments of a wedding. The interior, while cozy and modest, is filled with natural light that cascades softly through the windows, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. It’s perfect for those candid, tender moments that make a wedding truly special.

One of the things I adore about this venue is its simplicity and charm. The smaller size of the registry office makes each ceremony feel incredibly personal and intimate. This closeness creates a lovely environment, where every smile, tear, and loving glance is felt and captured.

The grounds and surrounding areas of the town hall provide a quaint backdrop for couple and group photos. Whether it’s the rustic charm of the nearby streets or the simple elegance of the gardens, there are plenty of opportunities to capture beautiful, natural shots.

The staff at Wimborne Town Hall are wonderful, adding to the venue’s warm and welcoming feel. They ensure that each ceremony runs smoothly, allowing the couples and their guests to relax and enjoy their special day, and for me to capture the unfolding story without interruption.

Wimborne Town Hall Registry Office is a treasure for couples seeking a more intimate and personal wedding experience. Its charm lies in its simplicity and the genuine warmth it brings to each ceremony. For a wedding photographer, it’s a delightful setting where the focus is on the couple and their love, making every photograph a testament to the beauty of simple, heartfelt celebrations.”
