The stage will be set for another wonderfully festive ‘switch on’ of the Wimborne Minster Christmas lights! Activities start on the Square from 10:30hrs and there’ll be enough going on all day to entertain the whole family!
It’s that time of year again where we look forward to lighting up the town for the festive season ahead! In the build up to the magic moment, there will be a wide variety of entertainment to keep all the family happy throughout the day.
Contributing acts can be seen on the stage in the Square from 10:30hrs on Saturday 25th November and include many local favourites from bands, to Carol singers, school groups to dancers and speeches on stage leading up to the ‘main event’. Cllr Terry Wheeler the Town Mayor said “I am very much looking forward to the day. The entertainment is always a hit and having our stage really makes the town centre a focal point. I am pleased to say that we will be collecting in aid of my chosen charities throughout the day too”.
The Mayor’s charities include Wimborne in Bloom, Friends of Victoria Hospital, and Walford Mill Education Trust. The big Christmas light switch on will take place at 16:30hrs after a countdown that we hope everyone will join in with! The Wimborne Militia will be warding off evil spirits of course and that will be on the Minster Green at 16:45hrs on The Minster Green.
The Christmas lights were equally funded by Wimborne Minster Town Council and Wimborne BID.
Reporters and photographers welcome.
